Research Interests

  • Bacterial diversity in the rhizosphere of major crops including transgenic plants.
  • Identification of bacteria by 16S rRNA sequence analysis
  • Development of 16S rRNA-targeted oligonucleotide probes
  • Metagenomic studies to determine diversity of “non-cultureable bacteria”
  • Development of Biofertilizers based on PGPR (N-fixers, Phytohormone producers & P-solubilizing bacteria)
